Cookie Policy

Cookies done right — only what the service needs.

Most cookie banners exist because most platforms use dozens of tracking scripts. We don't. Our cookie policy is short because our actual use of cookies is minimal.

Last updated: July 2026 United Republic of Tanzania Jali Global Tech Limited

This policy explains what cookies and local storage Math GiG uses, the purpose of each one, and how you can control them. We do not use advertising cookies, behavioural tracking, or cross-site profiling.

01

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website or web application. They allow the service to remember information about your visit — such as whether you are logged in — across page loads and sessions.

Types of cookies

  • Session cookies — exist only for the duration of your browser session and are deleted when you close the browser tab.
  • Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period (up to the expiry date stated in the cookie) unless manually deleted.
  • First-party cookies — set directly by Math GiG (mathgig.co.tz).
  • Third-party cookies — set by external services we use, such as our payment processor.

Local storage and session storage

In addition to cookies, the Math GiG web app uses browser local storage and session storage to retain your authentication token and UI preferences. These function similarly to persistent and session cookies respectively, but are not transmitted to our server with every request.

Mobile app

The Math GiG mobile application (Android) does not use browser cookies. Instead it uses secure on-device storage (Android Keystore / Shared Preferences) for session tokens. This policy therefore applies primarily to the Math GiG website and web application.
02

Cookies We Use

We use the minimum number of cookies necessary to operate the service. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Essential cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function and cannot be turned off without breaking the service.

Functional cookies

These cookies remember your preferences to improve your experience. Disabling them may affect platform behaviour but will not prevent you from using the service.

Analytics cookies

We use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies or track individuals across sessions. It counts aggregate page views and basic device statistics. No personal identifier is stored.

03

Third-Party Services

A small number of third-party services that power Math GiG may set their own cookies or use local storage. We detail them here:

Supabase

Supabase manages our authentication flow and may store session identifiers in cookies or local storage. These are first-party in effect (served from our domain) but generated by Supabase's libraries. See supabase.com/privacy for details.

Snippe (payment processing)

When you visit the payment checkout page, Snippe may set cookies to maintain the payment session and prevent fraud. These are temporary and expire when the checkout session ends. Snippe's cookie use is governed by their own privacy policy.

No advertising or social media trackers

Math GiG does not embed Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Twitter/X tracking, TikTok Pixel, or any other advertising or behavioural profiling technology. We have no plans to do so.

Children and third-party cookies

Our children's pages (dashboard views) are completely isolated from third-party scripts. No external cookies are set on any page accessible only within a child session.
04

Managing and Disabling Cookies

You have several ways to control how cookies are stored on your device:

Browser settings

Most modern browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies via their settings menus. Here are quick links for common browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

What happens if you block essential cookies

Blocking the authentication cookies listed in Section 2 will prevent you from staying logged in. You will need to sign in again on every page load. No other functionality is affected by disabling our cookies.

Do Not Track

We honour the Do Not Track (DNT) browser signal. When DNT is enabled, we disable all non-essential storage and do not pass any analytics data. Essential session cookies required to keep you authenticated remain active regardless of DNT state.

Cookie consent

Because Math GiG uses only essential and minimal functional cookies — and no advertising or profiling cookies — we do not present a cookie banner by default. If we ever introduce non-essential third-party cookies, we will update this policy and implement an explicit consent mechanism before deploying them.

05

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our use of cookies or applicable legislation. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the 'Last updated' date at the top of this page
  • Notify registered users via email at least 7 days before the changes take effect
  • If any new non-essential cookies are introduced, request fresh consent before setting them

Your continued use of Math GiG after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Cookie Policy.
